Fabienne Delacroix Artist Biography and Art Gallery Collection

Collection: Fabienne Delacroix Artist Biography and Art Gallery Collection

Fabienne Delacroix is the youngest child of the master Naif painter, Michel Delacroix. Born in 1972 in a family of artists, she enjoyed a high quality of schooling following her father's tutorial. She began to paint at the age of ten, working along side her father in his studio. Her talent was evident almost immediately. At twelve years old, Fabienne Delacroix's paintings were exhibited in a gallery in Carmel, California where the work completely sold out. Since 1994 she has been devoting herself to painting and her work has been represented exclusively by the American art publisher Axelle Fine Arts based in New York who launched her career. In 1996, her first three limited editions were such a success that they virtually sold out In 2004, Fabienne Delacroix began exhibiting on her own, and while her work can be linked stylistically to her father's, she is very much an artist in her own right.

Fabienne Delacroix’s growing fame has also led to numerous prestigious commissions. Both in 1997 and in 1998, New York Nick’s star, John Starks asked Fabienne to create the official images for the Annual Celebrity benefit and Golf Classic. Posters created from each of the images have raised a significant amount of money for the John Stark Foundation, which benefits inner-city youth nationally. A few year later YES, producer of the annual celebrity AIDS benefit, Boathouse Rock, invited Fabienne Delacroix to create art work for its Seventh Annual Celebrations in New York Central Park. The painting was auctioned off at the gala event, and the proceeds donated to AmFar; America’s leading nonprofit organization which supports AIDS research, education and policy.

Fabienne Delacroix also was chosen to be the official artist for the Special Olympics World Summer Games and created three images for the event. She donated a painting after 9/11 to benefit the New York Fire Department (FDNY) as well as she supported the Fondationde France in its humanitarian aid program. In France, her paintings were used as decors for several recitals of opera of the mezzo soprano Malika Bellaribi Le Moal, who were performed year round at the Théâtre du Renard in Paris and in other large cities over France. After over eight years living in Madagascar, the nostalgia of her beloved country becoming too strong, Fabienne Delacroix moved back to Paris in her 14th district studio.

In 2017 Fabienne Delacroix's first book « Paris Happy Days » published by HC Editions was released and is available in bookstores or on line. She has a mastery of light and color that is similar to that of French Impressionists. Until recently, Fabienne was known mainly for her seascapes and pastoral landscapes while her father was renowned for his Parisian cityscapes. However, now, Fabienne has expanded her lists of subjects to include the streets of Paris. Like her father's, Fabienne's Paris is an older, simpler one with horse-drawn carriages filling the streets. Although she is now carrying on her father's work, Fabienne continues to paint the French countryside, seaside and sometimes even Boston with her signature flair. She currently lives and works in Paris, France. Her work is on display in galleries around the United States: Washington D.C, New York, Boston, Seattle, San Francisco, Seattle, or New Orleans but also in Korea or Japan where she has regularly attended joint or personal exhibitions.
