Myron Waldman was an American Animation Artist best known for his work while at Fleischer Studios during the Golden Age of Animation. Born in Brooklyn, New York in 1908, he was a force in the animation industry. Waldman studied art at the Pratt Institute and began working with Fleischer Studio in 1930. It was with this studio that he did some of his most famous work, including Betty Boop, Raggedy Ann, Gulliver's Travels, the animated adaptations of Superman, and Popeye. Throughout his career, which continued into the eighties, Myron Waldman was an animator in more than 150 films and television shows, and was the animation director for more than fifty. In 1986, he was awarded the Motion Picture Screen Cartoonists Award, and in 1997 he was honored with the Winsor McCay Award, presented in recognition of the lifetime achievements in animation. Myron Waldman passed away in 2006, but his work continues to affect and influence adults and children alike.
