Mike Mayhew is an American Comic Book artist, penciller and illustrator who was born in Mesa, Arizona September 26, 1969.  He broke into the world of Comic Book art in 1992, where he revolutionized interior comic art with full pencil rendering. Mike has been a full time working artist since 1993, when he began to pencil comic pages for DC Comics, and honed his comic storytelling skills during runs on Zorro and Vampirella. For Marvel Prose, Mike Mayhew illustrated two Mary Jane prose young adult novels, by Judith O'Brien. He has produced film licensing art for Fox's Fantastic Four and Warner Brother's Superman Returns films. His subsequent work included issues of Spawn, X-Men Origins: Jean Grey, his first fully painted comic, and Savage, Mike Mayhew's first creator owned title from Image comics.

In 2009 Mike Mayew created an Effie award winning ad campaign for Cisco Systems called "The Realm", an online motion comic. Mike’s work continued to appear in comic’s biggest titles, including Avengers and Justice League. Mike style of illustration is he specializes in photo-realism and intense rendering of dynamic subjects. His approach ranges from state of the art digital techniques to traditional watercolor and acrylic painting. In 2013, Mike began adapting George Lucas’ original 1974 draft The Star Wars for an eight issue comic series from Dark Horse Comics. Mike Mayhew has also penciled the fifteenth issue of Marvel Comics 2015 Star Wars comic series, and drew the cover for the hardcover edition of The Phantom Menace comic book adaptation.

Mike Mayhew has since expanded his cover skills with Marvel Comics when he dazzled viewers with his depictions of Mystique, Elektra and She-Hulk. Mike has also produced work for film licensing, doing art for Fantastic Four and Superman Returns.  He is currently working on a painted book for Marvel, and developing several creator owned series with the industry's top talents. His studio is currently in Glendale, California.  His artwork is currently credited in 359 separate Comic Book issues.
