Billy Tan Mung Khoy, commonly known as Billy Tan, is a Malaysian-American Comic Book Artist born in Penange, Malaysia in 1970. He grew up in Malaysia and after graduating from the local high school in 1989, he traveled to the United States to study business at the University of Kentucky. He was reintroduced to American comics during the study, and put together a portfolio. He did his first comics work for Top Cow Productions. Among his credits are titles like Codename: Stryke Force, 21, Tales of Witchblade, Spirit of the Tao, Tomb Raider, Inferno and Witchblade Obakemono. He than began working as a penciler for Image Comics in the 1990's. Billy joined Marvel in 2004. Since then, Billy Tan has been a main penciler on projects such as X-23, Uncanny X-men, New Avengers, Uncanny X-Force to name a few. Tan became the regular artist of the Marvel Comics series Uncanny X-Men in 2006. In 2008, he was invited to draw the New Avengers issues #41 and 43-44 that tied into the "Secret Invasion" story line, before being offered to replace Leinil Francis Yu as the new regular artist on the title. Tan took over the flagship Green Lantern title as ongoing penciller beginning with issue #21. He worked together with writer Robert Venditti, who replaced Geoff Johns as series writer.  In 2010 he drew the Shadowland series for Marvel in which Daredevil stands in the spotlight. Now he´s assigned to be the penciler of Uncanny X-Force. Billy currently resides in Sydney, Australia with his wife Amy and his two children, Gavin and Jasmine. The artwork of Billy Tan is currently credited in 509 separate Comic Book issues.
