Jorge Molina Artist Biography and Art Gallery Collection
Jorge "Zurdo" Molina is a Mexican Comic Book artist, colorer and designer who has done work for various companies. Born on April 6, 1984 in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico he showed a passion for comics since an early age and he dreamed of working on anything related in drawing super heroes. Growing up in Mexico, Molina says comics were scarce and it proved almost impossible to follow an entire story arc. As he got older he started to realize it was just a kid’s dream and that he should probably do something more ‘reliable,’ but then he had the chance to study animation and from there he ended up in comics. Jorge Molina started working in the industry 10 years ago and has done video games, comics, clothing design and product design for companies like UDON, Image, Top Cow, and DC Comics, as well as Crystal Dynamics, Rock Star and Buzz Monkey. After cutting his teeth at the other companies, Molina began looking at Marvel as a place to further hone his skills, and for a chance to draw the characters he’d loved since childhood. In 2011, Jorge Molina scored an exclusive contract with Marvel Comics, but he’s already made his name and presence known to fans on such Comic Book series as Avengers: The Initiative, Captain America: Man Out of Time, World War Hulks: Spider-Man & Thor, X-Men: Legacy and A Force. He recently became the lead artist for the Star War Comic Books. The artwork of Jorge Molina is currently credited in 193 separate Comic Book issues.
