Rick Farmiloe (born December 28, 1956) is an American animator and sequence director who has worked for various studios, including Walt Disney Animation Studios and DreamWorks. Raised in Santa Rosa, California, he moved to Southern California in 1978 to attend California Institute of the Arts, but was offered a job at Filmation Studios. He accepted the job and began working on many different projects. Some of which were, Fat Albert, Mighty Mouse, Quacula, Tom & Jerry, Zorro, Sport Billy and Flash Gordon. In 1981, Rick Farmiloe was offered a job as an Assistant Animator at Walt Disney, where his first feature project was The Black Cauldron (1985). After he wrapped on this, he was promoted to Animator. He animated on such movies as The Great Mouse Detective (1986) and Oliver & Company (1988). He then went on to work on some of Disney's most profitable animated features, such as The Little Mermaid (1989), where he animated the character of Scuttle and on Aladdin (1992) where he animated the monkey Abu. After Aladdin, Rick Farmiloe left Disney to pursue other opportunities in animation.

Rick Farmiloe was hired by Jeffrey Katzenberg as the first animator for his new company, Dreamworks, which went on to become a major competitor with Disney. At Dreamworks, he was a Directing Animator on The Prince of Egypt (1998), bringing Moses' camel to life. He then tried his hand at storyboards on Shrek (2001), which became a huge hit and received an Oscar for best animated feature. Rick was also a Sequence Director at Klasky-Csupo on the feature, Rugrats Go Wild!. He also was a Storyboard Director on the Cartoon Network serise, Camp Lazlo in 2004. He went on to animate on Curious George and The Simpsons Movie, among others. He contributed animation for Brian Wilson, of the Beach Boys for his 2009 album, That Lucky Old Sun. He worked on several 2D projects for Duncan Studio, including two Kung Fu Panda shorts, and a How to Train Your Dragon short. Most recently, he was a 2D facial animator for Laika's Oscar nominated feature, The Boxtrolls (2014). Rick continues to freelance as a 2D animator and storyboard artist for various studios, and music videos.
